Hyperion customer move to OBIEE

Hi,

I got this question from someone and I am really not getting any strong arguments for this.
The question is -
How would you convince a Hyperion customer so that he would get ready to move to OBIEE. What would be your key points?
Any suggestions?

Hi,
Mahesh- I do not have a clue. But I doubt whether this can be done. Did you read it somewhere that this can be done? If you can send me the document or details.

Radhika- Can you send me the snapshot of the roles currently available to the admin user. Also which version you have installed and whether your workspace is working fine or not.

Regards

HI Manohar,
How r u? Can please tell me the differences between EPM and BPM?
and can you explain the use and how to use the Application library,Dimension Library,Data synchronization, application upgrade and all.

Thanks,
Mahesh.

Hi Mahesh,
I am good. Thanks.
EPM and BPM are two very different things. EPM helps you understand what is the performance of an Enterprise using Business Intelligence, Scorecarding and also helps you in managing your financial conslidations, planning your budgets and making forecasts.
BPM helps you to create workflows for your different business units so that you can manage them better and unterstand how the information is articulating or flowing.
However, BPM can compliment Planning and financial consolidation applications in making them more functional and practical.
Application library and dim library are all part of HFM which I do not handle. However I can say that they hold all the information about your applications and dimensions which can be reused or shared with other applications.
Data scnchronisation is used to scnchronise the information changed in one application or dimension to reflect in other shared applications.
Hope this would help to some extent.
Regards

Hi,
I'm pretty new to Hyperion. I need to build scorecards for KPI's defined using Hyperion Performance Scorecards. Im using OBIEE as the analytical reporting tool and Oracle 10g as my DB. What needs to be done to access the KPI data from the Oracle DB to build scorecards. Kindly provide me the steps or any related documents for reference inorder to access the database data. What is the main purpose for having an application link, if its an adapter, can i find one to connect to oracle DB as well? Can the same be achieved in Hyperion scorecards fusion edition?

Replies would be highly appreciated.
